The ASPRS Northern California Region is hosting a 2-day symposium on unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) in Reno, NV on October 21-22, 2014. The purpose of the event is to assemble academia, UAS developers, survey and mapping companies, government agencies, and UAS enthusiasts, to share information, showcase new technologies and demonstrate UAS systems in action (in flight). The event will be held at the Reno Stead Airport, an FAA-designated UAS test site, as well as at a symposium hotel in downtown Reno. The mission of the event is to advance knowledge and improve the understanding of UAS technologies and their safe and efficient introduction into our national airspace, government programs and business.
Highlights and suggested attendees of the symposium can be found on the Conference Information page
Conference Program and Speakers
Unmanned Aircraft Systems? You’ve seen them featured in the news and the blogs, on videos on TV and YouTube, and you may own one yourself. What do mapping and UAS industry experts say about this exciting technology and its impact on the geospatial profession and our society? Check out the Symposium Program and its lineup of Speakers!
GeoCue Group will host a one day workshop on small Unmanned Aerial Systems production in conjunction with the ASPRS Reno UAS conference. The workshop will be on Thursday, October 23rd (the day following the conference) beginning at 9 AM and ending at 3:30 PM.
The workshop will consist of both theoretical considerations as well as numerous workflow demonstrations. This workshop will provide attendees with a detailed overview, based on actual experience, of what is and is not possible with this new and exciting technology.
The price of the workshop is $75 and includes lunch. Space is limited and will fill up very quickly. Visit the UAS Workshop page for further details and contact information.
